Still Stitching

Honestly, I can't believe how fast time flies, but then I look at my blog and realize it's been 3 weeks since my last post.  Spring is trying to get here but there are the typical set-backs with bouts of cold and snow.

Last week found me helping hubby put up rain gutter - yes, that was a fun day (not), followed by 2 days of yard work.  By the end of those days I was tired and sore but still able to stitch on Roseville Album blocks.  I have 12 of the 16" blocks finished now so there is just one more of this size and then the 4 long ones.

I still use the applique method I first learned - freezer paper templates ironed to the right side of the fabric, mark along the edge, remove the paper, cut out with a small seam allowance and attach by needle-turn.

I'm still trying to finish drawing a design for a new wool wallhanging.  Almost all of the drawing is complete along with the templates being cut.  The last 4 blocks of Roseville Album may have to wait as I'm really excited to get started on the wool.

Last week I taught my "Crazy for Embellishment" class at My Girlfriend's Quilt Shoppe in Midway, Utah.  This was a really fun group and we spent the day learning embroidery stitches with an assortment of fibers.  If you want to visit a fun shop in a beautiful area, head to My Girlfriend's in Midway.  They carry a colorful assortment of hand-dyed wool along with a large assortment of threads for embellishment.  I look forward to returning there in October to teach a 2-day retreat.

OK, I'm off to stitch some more applique.
